Lately, my nice friend and I have been seeing some record rain showers in the city that I live in, and in fact, based on a report from our local meteorologist, my nice friend and I are trending to split an all-time record for rainfall in the area; During this time of year, I am used to getting rainfall, despite the fact that I must divulge this year, the rain has been anything however normal showers, but the downpour is rapid in addition to then the rain will last for 2 or so hours straight! So, the ground is saturated in addition to so is my garage roof.
About a week ago, I noticed that part of the roof over the garage was sunken in.
At first, I didn’t pay it too much attention however on one of the dryer mornings, I got close enough to see that the asphalt was caving in, upon realizing that the asphalt was failing, I evaluated the ceiling of the garage to see if there were any leaks. Thankfully there was none. After the discovery, I contacted my insurance company to let them know about the roofing harm. At the time, I wasn’t sure if the roofing harm was caused by the storms or if it was caused because the roof is old in addition to needs to be upgraded, my household was built in 1995 in addition to the roof has never been upgraded. There have been some roof repairs done to fix different sections of the roof on the house, despite the fact that I doubt there were any upgrades or fixes done to the roof over the garage. So, due to its age, I would think that the roof should be upgraded. I am no roofing specialist, so I will just wait for my insurance to contact me to advise on what to do next.
