There’s woes to the roofing over my garage

Lately, my good friend and I have been seeing some record rain showers in the town that I live in, but in fact, based on a report from our local meteorologist, my good friend and I are trending to split an all-time record for rainfall in the area, during this time of year, I am used to getting rainfall, although I must confess this year, the rain has been anything however normal showers. The downpour is rapid and then the rain will last for 2 or so hours straight, so, the ground is saturated and so is my garage roof… About a week ago, I noticed that part of the roof over the garage was sunken in. At first, I didn’t pay it too much attention however on one of the dryer mornings, I got close enough to see that the asphalt was caving in; Upon realizing that the asphalt was failing, I inspected the ceiling of the garage to see if there were any leaks. Thankfully there was none. After the discovery, I contacted my insurance corporation to let them know about the roofing harm. At the time, I wasn’t sure if the roofing harm was caused by the storms or if it was caused because the roof is old and needs to be updated; My condo was built in 1995 and the roof has never been updated. There have been some roof repairs done to maintenance weird sections of the roof on the house, although I doubt there were any replaces or fixes done to the roof over the garage. So, due to its age, I would believe that the roof should be updated. I am no roofing specialist, so I will just wait for my insurance to contact me to suggest on what to do next.
