It’s been sweet owning a lake house with my brother Ben. For the longest time, Ben and I wanted to own a nice property, & rent it out to tourists. Our condo has several lakes & rivers that attract tons of nature lovers. They come when the weather is warm to spend time on the water, & enjoy the magnificent surroundings. This has led to this city being a major tourist endpoint with various hotels & lots of short term rental properties. Ben and I wanted a piece of that pie, & recently, my buddy and I managed to find a lakeside house to buy. This house didn’t come cheap, & Ben and I had to believe long & strenuously about the purchase. However, Ben and I knew this was a long term investment, so there’s no hurry to turn a profit from it. The lake house looked splendid, & only needed a bit of toil done before Ben and I started taking reservations. Some of the toil my buddy and I had to do included door repairs. Some of the doors were missing locks, & looked a bit old. So, Ben and I found a door supplier near us that was selling them & also did door installation. Next, Ben and I had to look into the roof that my buddy and I realized needed a bit of repair. This was after hiring a local roofing dealer to do a thorough inspection. He said the roof could last about 20 more years, however, Ben and I had to do urgent roof repair. It’s easier to pay for roof maintenance than roof upgrade. This is why the roofing supplier is sending roofers next week to begin working. Hopefully, they won’t take too long & Ben and I can get started on deck installation in the front yard overlooking the lake.
