One of the tips was to set the wireless thermostat to a constant temperature and also ensure the HEPA filter stays clean
When I took up the project to upgrade my mom’s house from a boiler to an electric heat pump, I had no idea that it would take that long or be so complicated. I thought it is something I could do on my own as a former heating technician but an electric heating system is nothing like I had ever installed Unfortunately, the house which is old and dependent on a boiler for heating had no ductwork, which meant it would take longer and cost higher than we thought it would be. I also learned that for the electric HVAC to work efficiently in the house, I would need to have an electrician ensure that the house and the heating equipment match. I had already seen the HVAC products for sale at the heating equipment shop and deciding on the right unit was easy but for installation, I had to hire an HVAC specialist familiar with it. Setting the house up and the heat pump installation took slightly over a month and would have taken longer if I didn’t have the input of an experienced HVAC serviceman. Other than getting rid of the troublesome heater, the technician also offered energy-saving tips that would ensure our electric bill did not rise unreasonably, which my mom was wary about. One of the tips was to set the wireless thermostat to a constant temperature and also ensure the HEPA filter stays clean. With those two well cared for, the number of heater maintenance calls to the heating company would also be reduced and that means I no longer have to worry about the heating or cooling failing for my mother while I’m not around.
