Mice chewed through the A/C electrical wire.

My mom and dad had a house fire when mice chewed through the electrical wiring in the attic. The insurance corporation said there was still knob and tube wiring in the attic, and that was why it caught fire so quickly when the mice chewed through. It was a fire simply waiting to happen. I consistently worry about electrical fires, but I didn’t think of that when my a/c quit laboring. I was sad I needed a new air conditioning unit. I had to wait a couple of mornings before the heating and A/C worker arrived. When he got there, I told him the A/C unit was laboring and five minutes later, it wasn’t. He looked confused, and he headed outside. My partner was outside with him, but I couldn’t even hear what was being said. I finally saw the heating and A/C worker point to something, and my partner leaned. I could hear him whistle. He had his iphone out to make an iphone call, but apparently he couldn’t find what he wanted. He came into the house and told me to call an exterminator. We had mice and they chewed through the wiring in the air conditioning unit. We lived in the country so mice were normal, but I thought my buddy and I had them under control. When the exterminator showed up, he told us my buddy and I had at least a hundred mice, and it took him two weeks to eliminate them from the house. If there were that many mice, I would have thought I would have seen some trace of them, but if they were outside, he was simply going to get rid of all of them. He told me he put some chemicals around the household that would not hurt pets, but would keep mice away.
