Waiting room blues.

My daughter had an appointment last week that requires someone to take her. Her husband wasn’t available and couldn’t take off work so I offered to drive her and accompany her. Many times, if a doctor needs to run tests they need to give you anesthesia. this was the case with her appointment and I sat in the waiting room at the facility for almost two hours. While I was there I tried to concentrate on the book I brought along but I kept getting distracted. The HVAC system they had was terrible. Seeing as it’s the middle of winter, you would think it would be warm and comfortable. It was actually the exact opposite! Each time the system kicked on it filled the room with cold air and I couldn’t believe that I was forced to sit in that room with my coat on the whole time waiting for my daughter’s appointment to be over. My fingernails were actually blue at one point and many of the others in the waiting room was complaining to the receptionist about the conditions as well. Those complaints seem to fall on deaf ears so we all just sat there uncomfortably waiting. When they finally called me back to see my daughter I was relieved that the recovery area was warm. At least the patients didn’t have to endure the frigid temperatures. They must have separate zones for the waiting area and the area they use for the appointments. I really think they need to have the one in the waiting area serviced. People will be more willing to recommend the facility to other patients if they were are more comfortable.
