I can’t get over the luck we had in finding our new home. We had only been looking for a few weeks when one of our friends told us about the property. They had an aunt that was moving into assisted living and her home hadn’t even hit the market yet. I knew that the house was in a great area so we made arrangements to go meet with her aunt and look the house over. The house is about seventy five years old but has been well maintained over the years. There was one feature that sold me almost immediately and I could picture myself enjoying my morning coffee each day in the beautiful sunroom that was attached to the back of the house. My husband, of course, was more concerned with the plumbing, wiring, and HVAC system. He asked about the age of the roof and windows, all the important stuff. I didn’t care, I wanted the sunroom. I noticed that it had its own HVAC unit that was hanging on the wall so I figured I would be all set. As it turned out the items my husband was worried about were up to date and fine also and we were able to make an offer of the house right away. Our friends aunt was thrilled because she never had to go through the whole real estate broker thing and she felt better knowing the people who would live in her beloved home. We told her that she could come by for a visit whenever she wanted and even said she could enjoy a cup of coffee with me out in her beautiful sunroom too.
