Best office view I could ask for

When deciding upon my career years ago I knew I wanted to eventually be able to work for myself.

The idea of answering to someone else and working on their schedule just didn’t fit into my personality.

I am a person who does not respond well to routine therefore I knew it would be better to be self-employed. I tried working as a consultant for various companies where are you are selling different products through home parties, that did not work out well at all. I am not organized enough to maintain a schedule like that. I finally settled on a home data entry program where I can work from my home office and on my own timeframe. Most of the assignments involve transcribing meeting notes that have been recorded so it is nice to work in a quiet environment. I also have the ability to keep my space and warm or cool as I like which I would never have in a traditional office setting. The view out my windows is awesome too. We put my office at the back of the house so I can watch the birds at the feeders and see the trees as they flower in the Spring. Sure, these can be a distraction on some days too, but the benefits of the job make it all worth the effort to stay focused. Some days, when it is cold and snowy outside, I close the blinds and turn up the heat. I try and trick myself into believing that it is warm and sunny instead of cold and dreary. This makes it easier to get through the day as well.
