How did I not notice my air compressor going?

This afternoon as been disastrous, and it started at three in the afternoon when the loud grinding noise started out in the yard. It sounded like someone was killing my air conditioner component & then when it stopped, I knew that I was in for a long afternoon. By seven I had called into work, left a message for the Heating, Ventilation & A/C company & found every fan I had to try & keep cool in the eighty degree temperatures. I was sitting there dreading the afternoon while waiting for the repair professional to arrive. I was also worried about the cost of the repair. I was already going to have to pay an emergency repair fee however I had a feeling that I would be paying to replace the component completely. I should have called a while back when I started to hear unofficial noises however I figured it was just something like a stick or something that had fallen into the fan. It turns out that the compressor was slowly dying & now it was completely shot… When the professional arrived & opened up the component the look on his face told me that it was going to cost me a lot of money, and thankfully, because I was purchasing a new unit, the emergency fee was waived & they had a wonderful finance plan for the new appliance. They arenad the order & the new one will be here in just a few mornings. It means suffering through a short time without air however I suppose that will make me enjoy my new investment even more. The new Heating, Ventilation & A/C component is going to be way more efficient & that will end up saving me on my biweekly bills so at least I have that as a consolation prize too.
