Our house is over one hundred years old, plus it can be a pain sometimes.
My hubby, Todd, plus I bought the house when we were first married, plus it was my dream come true.
I’ve constantly wanted to live in an older house. I think they have so much more character that the modern ones that most of my family live in. After living in our house for only a couple short years, I realized that living in plus old house wasn’t all that I thought that it would be, but don’t get me wrong, it is a appealing house, plus it does have a lot of character, but it also has a lot of problems. We’ve had several leaks in the washroom plus living room. We’ve had some electrical issues plus easily decided to get the entire house rewired… By far, the largest trouble we’ve had is trying to heat the venue in the winter time time. There was an old wood burning stove there when we bought the house, but it has since bit the dust. Thankfully, the house isn’t that big, so we at least have that going for us. We ended up purchasing three electric fireplaces. One for the home office, one for the living room/living room, plus one for our home office. They seem to do a pretty nice task of keeping the house warm in the winter time months. The temperatures rarely drop below forty where we are at, so the fireplaces are able to keep up. As long as we can keep the drafty windows plus doors covered, our house stays nice plus cozy during even the coldest winter time nights. I love our old house, but man, it has been a lot of labor to keep it heated.
