I love our little cottage style house so very much.

It definitely feels like home to me and my husband even though we have only lived here for about six months now. The one thing that we had noticed that we were not anticipating is how chilly the house gets during the winter months. We have a relatively new furnace, so it should keep the house warm, but for some reason the house never quite felt warm enough. It was definitely warmer than outside, so I don’t mean to complain, but it just was not warm enough for my liking. My husband decided that we should buy an electric fireplace, and I am so glad that he did. I was hesitant at first because I knew that it would raise our electric bill quite a bit, but I am glad that I caved and let him buy it. It keeps the entire downstairs about ten to fifteen degrees warmer, and it is the perfect temperature in the house now. I wish we would have thought to get one of these fireplaces a few months back, but I guess you live and learn. One of our sons came over the other day, and he commented on how nice and warm it was in our house. He is now convinced that he needs a fireplace for his apartment as well. He doesn’t really need one in his apartment, but he is certain that he does. I am glad that he likes the fireplace. It will at least make his bachelor apartment look a little more homey which will be nice.
