My sister in law can truly be called the “coupon queen”.
If there is a deal out there to be had, she is sure to find it.
She even finds ways to use several coupons on the same item, making it free sometimes. I really envy her but know that I am not willing to put in the time and effort to search for the deals. I do use coupons, but, if they are not convenient, I won’t take the time to do so. I am sure my husband would love it if I were more like his sister in that respect. Because of the way she is, I was not surprised at all when she told us that she saved hundreds of dollars on the installation of her new HVAC system. Her system that she had in the house was very old. When she learned that she was wasting money on her energy bills, she immediately wanted to replace it with a new, more efficient one. After all, wasting money, to her was like committing a federal crime. She spent weeks researching, talking to dealers, and looking for deals online. She finally settled on a system that would save her on her energy bills, give her a tax write off, and came with a rebate for $300. She was so excited to let us know how much money she was saving when you added everything up. She has way more patience that I ever would. I think when we decide to have work done, or replace our HVAC system I will enlist her help with it so we can save money too.
