Before Summer started last year, Jack had the a/c unit serviced and the HVAC specialist did some minor repairs.
He told Jack he would need a modern a/c unit before this summer. The A/C unit worked well all summer, but Jack was always waiting for something to go wrong. During the winter, he was looking into every sale the HVAC company posted. Jack was hoping to find a modern a/c unit before it was time to have the old A/C unit updated. Earlier this year, Jack contacted the HVAC company and asked them if they had some leftover a/c units. They sent an HVAC specialist to the house to measure it, so Jack could get the right tonnage. After they got all their prices, the HVAC specialist came to the house and looked at his a/c unit. He looked at Jack oddly and asked if he was sure he wanted to update the a/c unit. He said there was nothing wrong with this one. Jack frowned and looked at him as if he was nuts. Are you sure the a/c unit is functional? The HVAC specialist wanted to know who told Jack it wasn’t. Jack told him it was one of their HVAC specialists. He pulled out the paperwork and handed it to him. He groaned and asked if he could make a copy of the paperwork. The owner of the HVAC company contacted Jack about an hour later. He told him the man who had taken care of his a/c unit was no longer with their company.
