HVAC units costs thousands of dollars to replace

Unfortunately, after reading the entire email, I discovered that I did not qualify for a free HVAC unit, or any other appliances listed because I didn’t meet the income requirements

I received an email from my power company that stated that later this year, they will be launching a program to replace old, outdated appliances with more energy efficient versions with good Energy Star ratings. The appliances that qualify include but are not limited to refrigerators, water heaters, as well as HVAC units. I could use a new HVAC unit, as mine is over 15 years old. And though for the most part it keeps my home comfortable, the unit has lost some efficiency over the years. However, replacing an HVAC unit is no easy feat. In fact, it costs a lot of time as well as money. The average cost of a new HVAC unit is between $5,000 and $12,000 depending on the size of the system. And I don’t know about you, but I certainly don’t have that extra money to spend on a new unit. So, it would be nice if I could get a new unit from my power company. Based on the email, all I would’ve needed to do was go to the website and apply for the incentive. And once approved, the power company would schedule the installation. Unfortunately, after reading the entire email, I discovered that I did not qualify for a free HVAC unit, or any other appliances listed because I didn’t meet the income requirements. For now, I guess I will continue to use my 15-year-old unit until it no longer functions. At that point, I will need to figure out how to pay the thousands of dollars it will cost for a new HVAC unit.
