Love the big windows – not the drafts

I have never lived in a dwelling where I could save on energy costs! In fact, I’ve constantly lived in old, semi dilapidated buildings where you suffered from unpleasant drafts & dim lighting all day & evening.

I’ve never lived in a dwelling with large, south-facing windows or skylights to let in the natural lighting.

Instead, I tend to live in dark, claustrophobic homes with awful outdoor air circulation & even worse natural lighting conditions; That’s why, I was extremely enthusiastic when I roamed into this home for sale & saw the lovely floor-to-ceiling windows. The home is rather seasoned & the building is a historic relic, which is why the windows are so stately & lovely. I realize, you truly cannot install such massive windows in today’s modern world because of government regulations & problems with energy expenditure! You see, when you have such massive panes of glass in the house, you are opening yourself up to awful air temperature regulation & plenty of fancy drafts, then with these massive windows, the household would also have uneven tepid & frigid air uneven temperatures all year round. In the summer, the sunlight would be streaming in through the windows & heating of the household significantly all afternoon. In the winter, frigid & frigid drafts can actually sneak through the poorly sealed windows & frigid air will radiate from the thin glass. I love this household for all it’s lovely features, but I don’t know if I can afford it long term. As much as I want to live in a naturally light & lovely home, I also need to afford my energy costs.
