Mom wasn’t sure if winter would ever end.
She and dad had so much exhausting weather this year that they were afraid they would not have the dated furnace updated before another winter began.
Then one afternoon, mom and dad woke up to doves singing, and sun glistening off the snow. They checked the weather report, and they were talking about temperatures in the forties for the entire week, and one day was going to be in the fifties. Mom and dad knew the snow was going to be melting, however they weren’t turning the furnace off. That didn’t mean they would not check out the cost of modern furnaces for the next winter. Dad and mom looked at all the furnaces online and picked the one they wanted. Mom phoned the HVAC company and put in a tentative order for the modern furnace. When winter came to an end, they phoned the HVAC company and asked them to deliver their furnace and install it. No one knew what mom and dad were talking about. Mom told them she had ordered the furnace late this Spring. They said they had no hard copy of the order and asked if she had ordered it from them. Mom couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She ordered a furnace, but the HVAC company didn’t know they put in the order. Dad stopped her and told her she had only put in a tentative order , but mom had never sent them a check to spend money on it. It surprised her when dad sided with the HVAC company, however mom soon realized he was right.
