This day in age, everyone is an expert.
Or at least that is what they will tell you when it comes to home repair jobs.
Thankfully, there are services out there to help you avoid some of the less than honest people out there. The BBB, Yelp, and even Craigslist have reviews of local and national companies that give you information on their services, prices, and performance. For this reason,when it came time to have some repairs done on our HVAC system at the house, I went online to review several companies before contacting them. I figured that if I weeded out the ones with bad reputations before wasting time talking to them, it would be much better. When I looked them up I found that the one that my friends had recommended had a reputation for shoddy workmanship, I was happy to move on from that one. The last thing I needed was to waste my hard earned money on a repair job on my HVAC system. I decided, instead, to go with a different local dealer that had a five star rating on 2 of the 3 services. My friend was bummed to hear about the ratings of the company he recommended. He was friends with the owner and never imagined that he would treat customers that way. It just goes to show that a simple search can find good and bad things about a person. So, business owners, should be careful to do a good job and follow through on promises to their customers. I now have a working HVAC system and a new repair service that I will use in the future.
