After experimenting with radiant floors for a few years, I have to admit that I can categorically state that I am not a fan of these.
To recoup some of the money I had already invested, I ultimately had the radiant floors removed, and I then sold them used to a heating and cooling dealership in my neighborhood.
I did lose a few thousand dollars, but I was able to recover the majority of my losses thanks to the sale I made. It was therefore a good part. I then had brand-new, completely up-to-date central heating, ventilation, and air conditioning installed in my loft to handle all of my heating and cooling needs. Central heating and air conditioning may cost more to operate, but oh girl, it is so much better when it comes to the heating! The radiant floors didn’t seem to be everything they had been made out to be in the marketing. My loft was undoubtedly not adequately heated by them. My biweekly energy bills were cheaper, so it makes sense. They are completely weak, that’s why! Certainly in my experience, that was the case. The radiant floors in my loft may have worked differently for some people, but they clearly did not in my case. Nobody should avoid investing in or purchasing radiant floors, nor should they waste their time or money doing so. They clearly did not function well for me, and it’s possible that my house’s construction played a role in this. However, I believe that it’s important for individuals to carefully consider their specific needs and conduct thorough research before making any decisions regarding radiant floors, as they may work better in different circumstances or for different individuals.
