Soccer camp

My son is ten years old and has decided he wants to play soccer next summer.

It is currently mid January and the flyer he brought home from school advertised a week long soccer camp to help athletes be ready for the upcoming season. He is very excited and can’t wait to go. The camp is being held at a local arena and because it is indoors, I had no worries about the current weather. Most of us had over a foot of snow packed in our yards and our daily average temperatures were in the 30’s. One the first day of camp, we packed his lunch, equipment and shorts to change into once he arrived. He wore his winter gear on the way because it was so cold. I dropped him off outside and told him I would pick him up at 3:00. I was only back home an hour when his coach called to say there was a problem. My first thought was an injury or something. Turns out, the arena was experiencing a problem with the HVAC system and I needed to pick my son up. The entire arena was down to 60 degrees by the time I got there which wouldn’t have been bad if they kids were wearing sweatpants and sweatshirts. Shorts and t-shirts were not so good. I spoke with the coach before leaving and he said that management was working on the problem. They hoped to have it fixed by the following day so he said to plan on camp at the normal time. My son was disappointed that his first day was cut short but grateful that he didn’t have to spend the whole day shivering in the cold arena.
