The HVAC technician said there was too much traffic on the roads

Last week, Bob booked his yearly HVAC service with his HVAC provider.

Typically, he schedules the service on the weekends or on one of his afternoons off.

However, because Bob heard an unusual noise coming from his HVAC unit, he opted to schedule service immediately. Bob made the appointment for 10 a.m. thinking that the service would last for 1 to 2 hours, which is normal for HVAC service. He had a meeting at noon with someone from the west coast that he needed to facilitate. So, Bob was hoping that the service specialist would be gone by then. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. The specialist showed up a little after 11 a.m., which was quite an inconvenience. But he was kind and he apologized for his delay as he didn’t anticipate the traffic on Bob’s side of town that day. And yes, the traffic is usually disappointing because of all the people traveling to work. Anyway, when he began the service, Bob mentioned that he had a video call at noon that he needed to be on. He asked the specialist how long the service would take, and he assured me that he would be done before noon. Well, as mentioned, that was not the case. In fact, the service call lasted for almost 4 hours, and Bob had to pause his meeting a couple of times to talk to the HVAC specialist. He apologized for the service call running longer than expected but he wanted to ensure that the device was functioning officially. And though he was quite frazzled trying to facilitate both his meeting and the HVAC specialist, everything worked out well in the end.
