It had been a long winter, and Bob and Cate were looking forward to summer.
They couldn’t wait for the a/c season and not worry about heating the lake house.
Their furnace was getting old, and it no longer heated and it once did. Bob and Cate went through more oil this year than they ever had, and it cost twice as much as it did last year. The furnace broke down several times, which meant higher HVAC bills than they ever had. All Bob and Cate wanted to do was get through the 2 weeks, and they could get rid of the furnace and look at buying a modern unit. They updated the a/c unit last year, and they knew it was going to work well this summer. Cate wanted to hang out at the pool for a while, and go into the home and relax in the a/c. Bob had other thoughts. He wanted to purchase the furnace and have it updated during the winter. He said that once the furnace was updated he wanted to go on a trip. They argued that once they updated the furnace, they couldn’t afford to go on a trip, however that just made him angry. The nicest part of summer wasn’t swimming and enjoying the a/c. The nicest part of summer wasn’t having a modern furnace installed for the winter. The nicest part of summer was when Bob left Cate alone during the summer because he was angry at her for not taking him on a trip. Summer turned out to be almost perfect.
