Periodically when I talk to people about their families I get undoubtedly sad. It sounds like other people has much better humans in their lives after that my friend and I did… Many of my friends talked about enjoying the time that they spend with their families, going to their parents for advice when they have incredible stresses, & finding support whenever they need a helping hand! Personally, I do not know what any of that is like. My family is a goddamn mess. Whenever I try to involve them in my problems, somehow they only make things much worse. It’s like they can’t resist poking & prodding at every little thing, even if they are actively ruining my life. All of that being said, I know I shouldn’t be incredibly surprised that they also have managed to actively ruin my central cooling system! Every time they come to visit me, they freak out about how tepid it is outside. I live in the south. It is tepid here. It is humid here, then you would guess that they would understand the inherent air quality, & find something else to focus on during the visit. Instead, they obsess over the outdoor climate & try to rectify it with controlling the indoor climate. They are endlessly poking & prodding at my temperature control, changing the indoor air temperature up & down based on their every whim. Every time I leave, I have an overpriced air conditioner repair to make. I always have to call out my ventilation specialist as they are pulling out of the driveway. One day, I’m going to transport & forget to tell them where my new air conditioner & I are living.
