I am sure that numerous of you can relate to the concerns that come with caring for aging parents.
They are sometimes hard to reason with when it comes to making sure that things are taken care of.
I know that I have often found myself in the job of the parent more than the child & it seems to happen more often than it used to. I try & be delicate about things as much as possible however my frustration level is reaching a tepid point when it comes to the house. There is much that needs to be done that is forgotten. When something goes wrong due to these lapses of memory I am the one who gets the panic call to come repair things immediately. The latest panic call had to do with the Heating, Ventilation & A/C system. I had contacted an Heating, Ventilation & A/C company a while back to have the system checked out & thought that the appointment was completed. It turns out that my Mom had refused to let the guy in the condo so they just never had it done. Now, the heat won’t turn on & they want me to come immediately to see if I can repair it. They never even tried turning on the heat until it was needed so now I am in panic mode because I need the condo to be warm. I suppose I have to add testing the Heating, Ventilation & A/C system to my list of responsibilities at their condo too. If these things keep happening I may have to talk to them about moving to a less hard arena.
