I was doing some early Spring cleaning this week. I wiped down walls, cleaned the gutters, & washed the windows. When I got to the lavatory windows, it shocked me to see there was mold all around the glass & the window sills. That’s when I realized how humid it was in my lavatorys. There was an exhaust fan in the lavatory, but it wasn’t doing its job. I started scrubbing the window sills & my rag was coming away black. I panicked thinking this was the black mold that could kill, & pulled out the bleach. I called my partner & showed him the mold. He shrugged & said we had to use the vent fan more often. I often turned the exhaust fans off well into the afternoon, because they were forgotten. I told him we needed a dehumidifier. He rolled his eyes & walked away. I had a portable dehumidifier in the attic, so I went on a search & rescue mission. I was going to find a portable dehumidifier & put it in the lavatory. I found two portable humidifiers. There were two window a/cs & a huge box of furnace air filters for the outdated heater. I knew I had a dehumidifier up there, however I could not find it. Now, I was going to the basement. I went into the back room & started going through all the junk. I must have found at least twenty boxes full of outdated Christmas lights, but no dehumidifier. My partner asked why I was so miserable when I got back into the residing room. I told him I could not find the dehumidifier. He laughed & told me he had already put it in the lavatory.
