Isn’t it a sad thing when you can’t even trust the people that you live with? The people that you are supposed to believe no matter what? The last person who you would ever expect to betray you and your life? Of course, I’m talking about my husband, or maybe ex-husband.
I haven’t exactly decided yet.
Our relationship troubles started the day that we move down south. That’s when we noticed how incompatible our air conditioning preferences were. Unfortunately, we already live together by this point, and there was nothing we could do about our living circumstances. We agreed to try to compromise on the indoor air temperature settings, and to moderate Hour Air Conditioning usage. I honestly thought that we could get through this together, especially with the help of our couples counselor. Unfortunately, it turns out that we weren’t both equally committed to making this relationship work. I started getting the sinking feeling that my husband was sneaking off and adjusting the thermostat on me when I wasn’t at home. He just seemed different than before, and wasn’t as affectionate or excited about lowering the air temperature anymore. I confronted him several times and asked if he had been adjusting the thermostat without me. I told him there was no use in lying, because this would come back to bite us both in the butt soon enough. He was never honest with me, so I decided to try to catch him in the act. I pulled out a single white hair and placed it gently over the thermostat before I left for work one day. When I stopped back home on my lunch break, sure enough, the hair had been moved and the indoor air temperature felt much colder.
